PE joins global march against canned hunting

People from 44 cities around the world -- from Stockholm to Sao Paulo, Vancouver to Melbourne, and Hong Kong to Cape Town marched against lion trophies in the growing canned hunting industry yesterday.

In Port Elizabeth and East London, marches took place at Kings Beach and at Orient Theatre respectively.

The march was initiated by South African wildlife activists

Animal advocacy group Cach -- the acronym for Campaign against Canned Hunting -- say they are lobbying the South African government to ban canned hunting.
A canned hunt is a trophy hunt in which lions are kept fenced in a confined area, so that the hunter is guaranteed a kill.
