Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of arson after a house was petrol bombed in Newton Park on Thursday night.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the homeowner was busy working when his dogs started barking.
The complainant, who lives in Lucas street, heard what sounded like an explosion and he went to investigate, only to find his front door on fire.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says he also found pieces of a glass bottle on his stairs.
The motive is unknown and this stage and no arrests have been made.
