Port Elizabeth is hosting two luxury cruise ships this weekend, which are on their respective world voyages in opposite directions.
The Bahamian-flagged German ship, MS Amadea, was in port on Friday, as part of its westward journey which would include stops in Mossel Bay, Cape Town and Namibia before setting sail for Brazil.
The 29,000 ton vessel of nearly 200 metres in length had a passenger capacity of around 600.
The much bigger Queen Mary 2, flagship of the Cunard line and with a distinct British heritage, is expected in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.
The Queen Mary 2 displaces just shy of 80,000 metric tonnes, and is 345 metres long - roughly the length of three-and-a-half rugby fields.
It is expected in PE at 7am on Sunday, before leaving in the evening for the Indian Ocean island of Reunion on its journey to Australia and beyond
