The hostage drama playing out at a pharmacy in Seaview, Port Elizabeth, is reportedly a suicide mission involving a father and his son.
Algoa FM's Raahil Sain is at the scene.
"A 53 year old father and his 19 year old son believed to be on a suicide mission at the Seaview pharmacy in van Reenenstreet held up the pharmacy owner Myra Booth and her two co-workers.
Speaking to the media a few minutes ago Booth said the duo had asked her to concoct a lethal injection for them to take. A security guard managed to help Booth and her co-workers to leave the scene. At this stage there is a strong police presence and negotiations are still underway.
The dog unit, TRT and bom squad are on the scene as the suspects are believed to be in possession of an explosive device"
