Rolfe Laboratories says the death of three workers following an explosion and fire at its aerosol plant in Middelburg in the Eastern Cape a week ago, is extremely tragic.
More than 30 people suffered burns in the blast last Monday, with 18 seriously injured workers transferred to hospitals in Nelson Mandela Bay.
The Eastern Cape Health Department confirmed on Monday that a third worker died of her injuries this weekend.
Company spokesperson, Brad Rolfe told Algoa FM News on Monday that they very concerned about the remaining workers who are still in hospital.
"Our biggest concern is obviously at this stage are the people still in hospital being treated for their wounds. In the 40 years since the business started we have never had a fatality. This is an extremely sad time" Rolfe said.
