Port Elizabeth police are searching for a third suspect, who was involved in a hijacking and shooting incident in Zwide over the weekend.
Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, says the drama started when 3 armed men hijacked a bakkie at the owner's house.
She says the owner's friends chased after the hijackers.
Janse van Rensburg says a police vehicle joined the chase, and the suspects later pulled over, and fired shots at the police.
She says police returned fire, and one of the suspects was shot dead. Another was wounded, and arrested. The third suspect fled the scene on foot.
No-one else was injured.
