Two people have been killed and two others were wounded in several gang-related shootings reported by police in Nelson Mandela Bay over the past 24 hours.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says a 47-year-old man died in hospital after being shot in Helenvale late Tuesday afternoon.
In a second incident Tuesday, a 26-year-old was shot in the hip when two men opened fire at a building in Malabar Extension Six.
Labans says three men forced their way into a house in Barcelona township near Helenvale in the early hours of Wednesday morning and opened fire, killing a 29-year-old man who was shot in the stomach.
He says a 53-year-old man was wounded in the arm.
Labans says police are out in force hunting for at least seven gunmen.
