A 30- year-old Arcadia gang member has been found guilty in the Port Elizabeth High court on charges of murder and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Calvin Busten was convicted on Wednesday of murdering 27 year-old Christian Edward on the 12th of January this year.
Edward and his friends were sitting in a shack on the side of a house in Gentian Street in Arcadia, Bethelsdorp when the accused stormed in by kicking open the door.
He asked for Edward by name and shot him three times.
Busten was arrested by the Provincial Gang Investigation Unit on the 2cnd of February at his house in Jenniker Street, Bethelsdorp.
He remained in custody since his arrest.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu said sentencing will be passed on the 12th of December.
Busten is a member of the G-Stars gang which is an affiliate to the Spotbouer gang.
This is the fourth case this month where gang members from the Northern areas have either been sentenced or found guilty on gang related cases.
