Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a cyclist was killed in a hit and run accident on Sunday morning.
Police Spokesperson Captain Johan Rheeder says the 37-year-old man was cycling in Walmer just before 5 am when he was hit by a vehicle on the corner of Heugh road and 8th Avenue.
Rheeder says the motorist fled the scene.
The Name of the male cyclist is being withheld until his next of kin has been informed.
Anybody with information or possible eyewitnesses are urged to come forward.
