Port Elizabeth police have called on the public for help in their investigation into the rape of two NMMU students.
The appeal for information came from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, which is probing the rape of the two, allegedly by a taxi driver who threatened the students w
"It is alleged that on Wednesday, 19 October 2016 at about 18:20 two students, aged 18 and 20 years old from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) boarded a taxi to the central business district (CBD)," a police statement said.
"The taxi driver failed to stop at their destination but instead drove them to Kwazakele. One of the victims was allegedly raped before the driver brought them back to the CBD. The driver then drove with them around the CBD before taking them back to Kwazakele where both females were allegedly raped at a house.â
âThe following morning they were dropped off at a bus stop. They reported the case at SAPS New Brighton. Police are investigating a case of Kidnapping and Rape.â
