PE cops seek help in identifying murder victim

File

Police in Bethelsdorp, Port Elizabeth, are appealing for the community’s assistance in identifying and tracing the next of kin of a 19-year-old teenager who was found murdered on Friday night.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said police were alerted to the body of a person lying in the bushes between Kroneberg Street in Ext 21 and Hibiscus Street in Ext 31 in Bethelsdorp.

She said the deceased had multiple gunshot wounds to the head and was “unknown” to the residents in that area.

“The teenager was clad in green check pyjama pants, red and navy track Fila jacket, a Redbat golf T-shirt, black Dakota shoes, and a blue surgical mask,” Naidu said.

Anyone who can assist police in identifying the teenager or may know his next of kin is asked to contact D/W/O Johnny Du Toit at SAPS Bethelsdorp on 082 442 1667 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
