Police in Port Elizabeth are urgently trying to locate an eyewitness to a hit and run accident which took place in Humewood on Monday.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a 20-year-old man was knocked off his motorbike at about 10 pm on the corner of Russell and Elliot street in Humewood.
She says according to police information a passerby contacted police but he/she left prior to police arriving on the scene.
The victim is currently in a critical condition in hospital and the passerby might have valuable information.
Police are now appealing to anybody with information to contact police.
