Four men have been shot and killed in three separate incidents in a day of bloodshed in the Motherwell policing cluster of Port Elizabeth.
The violence included the double-murder of two men in Nhose Street in Zwide at around 20h30 on Thursday night.
Police Captain Andre Beetge says the first killing was reported at 11h30 on Thursday in which a white Aveo was seen stopping in Gqwaru Street, NU5, Motherwell.
Three men got out of the vehicle after which one of the men were shot at close range by the other two. The unidentified victim tried to flee but was shot again and died at the scene.
Then at around 19h40, 35-year-old Mzoli Ntlanti was shot by unknown attackers in Daku Road, Kwazakele.
Captain Beetge says he passed away in an ambulance while being transported to Dora Nginza Hospital.
The two victims of the double-murder in Nhose Street, Zwide, have been identified as 41-year-old Anele Dayimani and 50-year-old Vusi Mini.
They were shot and killed by unknown attackers while they were sitting in a parked white Opel Corsa close to the house of Anele's brother.
After hearing the shots being fired Anele's brother found them in the vehicle and notified police.
Captain Beetge says in all three incidents the motive remains unclear but police are suspecting that the murders were targeted killings.
