Port Elizabeth have arrested two suspects and recovered a hijacked mini truck carrying liquor.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the 49-year-old complainant was entering his residential premises in Bandage Street in Kleinskool on Friday afternoon when he was confronted by two suspects, one armed with a firearm.
They threatened him and drove off in his H100 mini truck which was loaded with liquor.
Less than an hour later, at three pm, the vehicle passed to police in Rensburg Street who chased it down.
Captain van Rensburg says the mini truck then crashed into the wall of a house.
One suspect managed to flee while two teenagers, both 18 years old, were arrested.
A toy gun was also seized.
Further investigations resulted in the recovery of the liquor which had already been offloaded at a house in Kleinskool.
Both suspects will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrates’ court on Monday on a charge of vehicle hijacking.
