PE cops allegedly help woman escape

Two Port Elizabeth police members have been arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting a woman to escape from police custody.

Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, says a 53-year-old Warrant Officer and 58-year-old Sergeant, will appear in court on Monday.

He says their arrest came after an alert was issued on Thursday when the 28 year old murder suspect, Lungiswa Tsenge, could not be accounted for.

Beetge says the two policemen face charges of corruption, aiding and abetting the escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice.

He says anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Tsenge should contact the Kwazakhele police.
