A 26-year-old man implicated in Mount Road Police Constable Bongani Ngcingwana's murder has made his first appearance in the New Brighton Magistrate's court.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Anelisa Feni, said Sizwe Moshara made a brief appearance on Thursday and will be back in court on the 21st of December for a formal bail application.
He allegedly shot and killed 37-year-old Constable Bongani Ngcingwana in June this year.
Captain Feni said Ngcingwana and his colleague were patrolling in New Brighton when they pulled over a suspicious-looking silver Toyota Etios.
When they approached the four occupants in the vehicle, Moshara jumped out of the car and allegedly fired the shots that fatally wounded the constable.
Moshara, who was arrested by the Hawks on Monday, faces charges of murder and attempted murder.
