Port Elizabeth businessman Shaun Blunden is applying for bail in the city's magistrate's court on Wednesday.
The owner of Blunden Coach Tours was arrested over the weekend for allegedly shooting and wounding his sister's ex-husband.
AlgoaFM's Raahil Sain reports from the courtroom that the State has indicated its not ready to proceed with a formal bail application as Blunden's passport and firearm status need to be obtained.

Blunden's attorney Paul Roelofse says, however, that his instruction is to oppose the postponement.
He says a person has the right to apply for bail at his 1st appearance.
The State intends to argue that this is a stage 5 offence.
