Port Elizabeth police are searching for a number of suspects who robbed an ambulance driver in Walmer township.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says it is alleged that the EMS ambulance responded to a call in Area Q for medical assistance early on Saturday morning.
She says the driver was seated alone in the front of the vehicle, while three other medical assistants were attending to the patient at the back.
Naidu says the driver alleged that about five men approached her and threatened her with a firearm and knives.
They demanded money and cellphones.
She handed over her cellphone and they left.
No one else was robbed.
A case of armed robbery is under investigation.
