Two male relatives, aged 32 and 34 will appear in the Paterson Magistrate court soon on a charge of murder in two unrelated incidents.
Police Captain Mali Govender says it is alleged that the 32 year old suspect allegedly assaulted his girlfriend on Thursday night.
She says they both went to bed and the following morning she did not woke up, and he summoned for an ambulance.
She was certified her dead at the scene, and the suspect was arrested.
Govender says on Friday morning, locals went out to the veld to graze their cattle when they found the fully clothed body of a female who resides in Paterson.
She says community members went to the residence of the deceased's boyfriend and burnt down the place.
Govender says the suspect fled prior to their arrival.
He was arrested at around midday on Sunday at the home of a relative where he tried to hang himself.
