Parliament's portfolio committee on appropriations will begin an oversight visit to the Eastern Cape from Tuesday.
That's to assess the readiness of sites identified to host the National Health Insurance pilot programme announced earlier by government.
The committee will spend the next few days meeting Eastern Cape Health MEC, Sicelo Gqobana, and heads of national and provincial departments as well as inspect sites in the OR Tambo District Municipality.
The Appropriations Committee has also wrapped up site visits in Kwazulu Natal.
Government has identified ten sites country-wide where the National Health Insurance Scheme will be piloted.
