A couple will appear in the Themba Magistrate's Court in Gauteng on Wednesday for allegedly kidnapping their children from their legal guardians in Cradock.
Police spokesperson, Captain Larrianne Jonker, said Marius and Tasha Ferreira were arrested at a shelter for homeless people outside Pretoria on Monday following a tip-off to the police.
She said their children, aged five and 12, were taken to the South African Relief Project for safe-keeping until they were handed over into the care of their legal guardian and grandfather, Marius Olivier.
He reported them missing last Friday after it was alleged that the Ferreira's left town shortly after the children were dropped off at their home for an arranged visit by a social worker.
They will be charged with kidnapping and contravening a court order.
