Proceedings were adjourned almost as soon as they started in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Thursday where Christopher Panayiotou is launching a formal bail application after spending two weeks in St Albans Prison.
The 28-year-old Panayiotou was arrested for allegedly being the mastermind behind the killing of his 29 year-old wife Jayde, the popular Riebeek College school teacher who was reported missing on the 21st of April.
Her body was found on a farm at Rocklands near Uitenhage the next day. She had been shot in the head and upper body.
Magistrate Abigail Beaton adjourned proceedings so that legal counsel for the state and defence could meet in chambers to discuss a media application that the hearing be covered live on the web and that the taking of photographs be permitted.
Chris Panayiotou family members are also attending proceedings.
Beaton granted media access to the Times media group and journalists are allowed to take photographs only when court is not in session.
The hearing will resume at 11.30
