The CEO of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, Mandlakazi Skefile, has expressed outrage at the poaching of rhino at Lalibela Game Reserve near Grahamstown.
Lalibela confirmed yesterday that four rhino, including a pregnant cow, had been slain by poachers who darted the animals and removed their horns with expert precision.
The pregnant animal had to be euthanized.
In a statement, Skefile, said she welcomed the investigation by the Hawks and other law enforcement bodies, adding that she hoped that the perpetrators would soon be brought to book.
She said this area and the province rely heavily on the Big Seven as a major tourist attraction.
