A three year old boy from Bakenskraal near Oudtshoorn has died, following a snake bite.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie says the incident happened on Thursday, when a 1.6 meter long Cape Cobra bit him in the face.
He says Brenlyn Moos was sleeping in his room, when his mother, Bernedine heard him scream.
She told the police that she ran to his room where she saw her son falling to the ground.
Two bite marks were visible on his face.
Pojie says the boy was already dead when an ambulance arrived at the scene.
Oudtshoorn emergency services found the cape cobra underneath a bed and removed it.
