One person was killed and four others were injured in an accident between a bakkie and a truck on the N10 between Paterson and Cookhouse on Saturday afternoon.
Eastern Cape Traffic Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says a Corsa bakkie traveling from Addo with six occupants, including a child, collided with an articulated truck at an intersection.
He says the truck was traveling from Cookhouse heading to Gqeberha.
Binqose says a female passenger from the bakkie died at the scene.
One person was critically injured while three others sustained serious injuries - including the child.
They were taken to Livingston Provincial hospital for further medical treatment.
The truck driver escaped unharmed.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
