Police in Stutterheim has arrested 18 suspects for public violence and malicious damage to property.
Protesters started burning tyres on Tuesday when police fired rubber bullets to control the crowd.
One person was injured and died in Hospital.
Police Spokesperson Captain Siphokazi Mawisa says protesters were back in the streets on Wednesday pelting both motorists and vehicles with stones.
A shop in Mlungisi Commercial park was also set alight.
The suspects will appear in the Stutterheim Magistrates Court soon.
The Spokesperson for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate Moses Dlamini said IPID would be investigating the death.
