One Direction fans have anxious wait at PE airport as flight's delayed

Around 160 fans of the pop group, One Direction, spent an anxious 10 hours and more at the PE airport waiting to board a FlySafair flight to Cape Town for the concert Wednesday night.

Earlier in the day the airline said its early morning flight from Cape Town to PE had to return after a sudden loss of pressure over Mossel Bay resulted in oxygen masks deploying from overhead panels.

FlySafair's plan of action included a back-up aircraft being sent to PE to pick up the young fans and their parents who had been waiting at the airport since six Wednesday morning.

Young Megan who tweeted Algoa FM said the plane arrived close on 5.30 Wednesday afternoon.

FlySafair vice president marketing, Kirby Gordon, said they'll be taking good care of the passengers when they arrive in Cape Town arranging a special shuttle service to take the fans to the concert.
