Port Elizabeth High Court judge Irma Schoeman will on Thursday on an application by rape and human trafficking accused, Timothy Omotoso, for further particulars on the charges against him.
Lawyers for both the state and defence presented their arguments on Wednesday.
Defence attorney, Peter Daubermann, told the court that their application for further particulars from the state was not a delaying tactic.
He is seeking additional details from the state on the dozens of charges that were brought against Omotoso, telling the court that the allegations in the charge sheet were not supplemented by information in the police docket.
Daubermann said that he had brought a similar application during the previous trial under Judge Mandela Makaula which was turned down, but he said this was not on the merits.
He told judge Schoeman that the current application had nothing to do with the previous one as this was a fresh trial.
State advocate, Nceba Ntelwa argued that the more than 90 charges and alternative charges against Omotoso, Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho, were based on statements from the complainants.
He said that the accused do not need further particulars to plead to the charges.
