Controversial Nigerian pastor, Timothy Omotoso, lost his bid on Monday to have charges against him and two co-accused, Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho, quashed.
Defence attorney, Peter Daubermann told the court that the charge sheet infringed on the accused constitutional right to a fair trial as it does not contain particulars such as the exact dates when the alleged offences took place.
However, the application was dismissed by judge Mandela Makaula who ordered that the trio should stand trial on a total of 97 charges.
These comprise 63 main charges, that include human trafficking and rape, and 34 alternative charges.
Judge Makaula said he would give reasons later.
Meanwhile, the State is expected to reply to an application by Dauberman on Tuesday requesting the State to furnish them with specific details on the alleged offences against the trio.
Omotoso, who was denied bail twice before, remains in custody while Sulani and Sitho are out on bail of R2 000.
