A Port Elizabeth magistrate has rejected a second application by controversial Nigerian pastor, Tim Omotoso, to secure bail.
The Jesus Dominion International Church pastor faces a total of 27 charges that include human trafficking and sexual assault.
Five of the charges relate to Contravening the Immigration Act.
In rejecting his bail bid on Friday, magistrate Thandeka Mashiye, said that Omotoso's new legal counsel did not bring new facts to support the new bail application.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Tshepo Ndwalaza, said they were happy that bail was denied.
Ndwalaza said they were proud that they "have been able to convince the court that this man must not get bail."
"We have been saying that this man has a case to answer in the court of law," he said.
ANC Women's League member, Nocawa Nondumo, said the league was thrilled at the outcome.
Nondumo said it's as if the magistrate had answered their plea.
She added that Omtoso deserved to be in jail for "ill-treating" young and lost souls.
The pastor will be back in court on November 1 2017.
