The death toll on Eastern Cape roads has risen following two fatal accidents reported on Monday morning.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell, says four people were killed early on Monday in a head-on collision between two taxis and an SUV.
He said the accident happened just after 6.30am on the R-61 between Aberdeen and Beaufort West.
In another crash reported, one person died when a driver lost control of his vehicle on the Mount Coke Road near East London.
Bramwell says one person died while eight others were injured.
He told Algoa FM News that they're very concerned at the number of accidents this weekend alone in at least 20 people, including several pedestrians were killed.
