Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a Ford Ranger and a Nissan bakkie on the Rocklands Road between Gqeberha and Kariega on Friday evening.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says an off-duty police officer, 55-year-old Warrant Officer Calvin Eyssen, who was the driver of the Nissan, and his two-month-old son died at the scene.
She says the driver of the Ford Ranger and a female passenger in the Nissan were taken to hospital.
Colonel Naidu says the cause of the accident is unknown and police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
