Off-duty PE police officer shot and killed in KwaZakhele

An off-duty police officer was assaulted, shot and killed in KwaZakhele, Port Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci says the 32-year old Constable was allegedly dragged out of a telephone booth and assaulted by five suspects.
She says he was shot several times in the upper body and he died at the scene.
A murder case has been opened, and no arrests have yet been made.
Eastern Cape police commissioner, Lt-Gen Celiwe Binta condemned the murder, adding that an attack on, or murder of a police official, was a threat to our constitutional democracy.
