Three off-duty police officials have arrested an alleged rapist in Kwadwesi in Gqeberha.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says they were driving near the robots at Kwadwesi at around 6 pm on Tuesday when they noticed a crowd chasing a man.
She says they stopped to investigate and were told that two teenage boys identified the unknown man as the suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted them, last Friday.
Naidu says according to information, the 16 and 17-year-old were on their way to the shop in Kwanoxolo when the suspect threatened them with a knife in an open field.
She says the younger boy was sexually assaulted, while the 17-year-old was raped.
Naidu says he also fled with their money.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Thursday on a charge of rape and robbery.
