An off duty police constable died in a car accident in Great Brak River on Thursday morning.
The 34-year-old policeman, who works at the local police station was driving on Friemersheim Road at 7 am when his Ford Ranger Bakkie collided with a bread delivery vehicle.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Laurianne Botha says a young passenger who was in the car with the Constable survived the accident.
The driver and passenger of the delivery vehicle were transported to a hospital in Mossel Bay for multiple injuries.
The name of the officer will only be released once his next of kin have been informed.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution as the Garden Route area has had thick fog over the last few days.
