Metal workers union, Numsa in the Eastern Cape, says its aware of pending efforts to have the union suspended by Cosatu.
Numsa says some Cosatu affiliates will try and use the federation's Central Executive Committee meeting this week to either force an illegal suspension or expulsion of NUMSA from COSATU.
Spokesperson, Castro Ngobese, says Numsa will resist any attempts from any quarters to separate NUMSA from the 2.2 million members of affiliates of COSATU.
Numsa in the Eastern Cape held its local summit in St Francis Bay over the weekend.
