The Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority has seized the assets of a Port Elizabeth pastor.
The raid was carried out this morning at the home of Reverend Peter Twynham in Aspen Heights in the Northern Areas.
This comes amid an ongoing investigation into the alleged theft of more than R1.3 million at the PE Assembly Tabernacle Church in Sanctor and a fraud probe into his failure to pay the SA Revenue Service more than R400 000.
NPA spokesperson, Tsepo Ndwalaza, says Twynham's wife Ethel and son in law were also cited in the court order.
Ndwalaza told Algoa FM News that the raid to seize two cars and a house, was carried out on Thursday morning.
"He has been spending money and not authorised to do so to the tune of over R1.2 million and that emerged from the investigation from SARS, SAPS and the NPA. We were able to execute the order today at Aspen heights. We successfully attached a Mercedes Benz, an Opel Corsa and their house" he said.
