The National Prosecuting Authority in Mthatha has confirmed a meeting between senior public prosecutors with regards to the criminal case opened against Mandla Mandela.
A case of tampering with a grave was opened against former President Nelson Mandela's grandson at the Bityi police station on Tuesday.
NPA regional spokesperson in Mthatha, Luxolo Tyali, told Algoa FM news that only once the docket had been received, would they be able to confirm whether or not Mandla Mandela would be charged.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Lt Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, confirmed that the police investigation is underway and that the NPA would receive the docket within seven days.
