A 23-year-old man facing a murder charge for fatally stabbing an alleged robber made a brief appearance in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's court on Thursday where the matter was postponed for further investigation.
Athenkosi Zenani, who was a final year I.T student at Nelson Mandela University last year, was allegedly attacked and robbed by two men in Central while walking home in the early hours of a Sunday morning in November last year.
It is alleged that Zenani managed to grab the knife from one of his attackers and then stabbed him to death.
The second suspect fled and was later arrested by a private security guard.
Zenani remains out on bail and was ordered to be back in court on the 28th of March.
The victim was identified as a foreign national.
