A firearm confiscated from three men arrested in Cape Town on Thursday has been linked to a murder in the Eastern Cape.
Western Cape police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Andre' Traut, says members on patrol in Kraaifontein stopped and searched a vehicle driving recklessly.
He says three male occupants, aged between 26 and 30, were searched and a firearm, linked to a murder at Bityi in the Eastern Cape, was found in their possession.
Traut says the vehicle was reported stolen in Claremont, Cape Town in December.
He says the three are due to appear in court soon.
