The case against the Nelson Mandela University student charged after recklessly driving along the Port Elizabeth beachfront has been provisionally withdrawn.
The 25-year-old, Melusi Magwenyane was arrested in March after a viral video of the incident which shows the driver breaking numerous road laws; wheel spinning, driving up the wrong side of the road and even losing control of the vehicle at one point.
The incident took place at night on a stretch of Beach Road in front of several popular drinking spots.
His case saw numerous postponements before the PE Magistrates Court.
The National Prosecuting Agency spokesperson in the Eastern Cape, Anelisa Ngcakana said the matter was provisionally withdrawn for further investigation.
The 25-year-old facing a charge of reckless and negligent driving was released on warning.
