Detectives in Kabega Park in Port Elizabeth are looking for a missing man whose car was found abandoned at Maitlands Beach.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the 37-year-old Morne Pretorius was last seen by his wife at his place of work around 9.30 on Friday morning.
She says Morne contacted his mother during the day and asked her to pick up his son at daycare and also later asked his mom to pick up his wife from work, as he was running late.
Janse van Rensburg says his wife found this to be suspicious and became more concerned when her husband's phone was off.
She says police searched Maitlands and the surrounding areas but with no luck.
Pretorius was wearing a white hoody top and black skinny jeans.
