The Port Elizabeth man charged with the rape of two Nelson Mandela University students has abandoned a bid for bail and also intends to plead guilty.
The 29-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday following Monday night's attack on the University's Second Avenue campus.
He faces additional charges of robbery and house-breaking.
The suspect has a previous conviction for robbery with aggravating circumstances.
He cannot be identified yet until he pleads in court on Monday.
Meanwhile, students and members of the public held a protest outside the court on Friday against gender violence.
