Port Elizabeth rapist Kwanela Kilana was handed three life sentences in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Thursday on four counts of rape.
He was sentenced to an additional 47 years imprisonment on several other charges including house breaking, 2 counts of compelled sexual assault and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
29-year-old Kilana was convicted on 11 of the 12 against him on Wednesday.
He was acquitted on one charge of housebreaking with intent to rob.
Passing sentence, High Court Judge Dayalin Chetty, said Kilana was a danger to society and he could only guarantee society's safety by permanently sending the 29-year-old away.
During October last year, a 25-year-old NMU student and her friend were violently attacked in a computer lab at the University's Second Avenue Campus in Summerstrand.
Kilana raped and sexually assaulted the students, robbed them of a cellphone and stabbed one of them with a pair of scissors.
He was also convicted of the rape of a woman near Greenacres Village in July last year.
