Thornhill police are investigating after a bread truck was robbed in Loerie in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Eastern Cape police said the driver and his assistant were delivering bread in Marlene Street when the incident occurred.
Spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart said, "the victims were approached and threatened with a firearm by an unknown man."
"The man fled the scene on foot after he robbed the driver of his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money," said Swart.
She added police were following up on all possible leads and urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
