NMMU launches new TV ad campaign (watch here)


 Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University is taking its marketing campaign national with its first television advert that will be flighted in April.

The two ads, 60 and 30 seconds long, feature students and staff and a schoolboy and were produced by two local agencies, Boomtown and Rooftop.

The voice-over features renowned actor and NMMU honorary graduate, John Kani, who will also voice a series of radio ads to support the university's marketing campaign.

NMMU Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations, Pieter Swart, says the university has grown in national stature over the past two years but still needs to continue to create awareness.

He says the music and Kani's voice adds the gravitas that they need in sharing the NMMU brand beyond the Eastern Cape.

Swart told Algoa FM News this is a brand building campaign and not a pure advertising campaign.
