The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Council, workers and students have decided to meet this Saturday to resolve all outstanding issues.
This decision follows an open meeting between the involved parties on Monday morning at the NMMU South Campus.
SASCO regional chairperson, Lufefe Kutu, says they are calling for transformation of the Univeristy including a name change of the "Imbizweni building" and restructuring of the council and permanant employment for outsourced workers.
Workers from Supercare and Servest have decided to down tools until the meeting on Saturday.
"....we want everything to be transparent and public, no more meetings behind closed doors" he said
NMMU will issue a statement on Monday.
