The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has condemned the illegal disposal of hazardous waste and materials, which pose a risk to human life.
This comes after a 9-year-old boy died after drinking suspected poison found between refuse bags in Bluewater Bay.
Eltee Willard died on Tuesday shortly after he and his father scoured through refuse bags in the area in search of food.

Alwyn said while rummaging through the refuse bags, Altee found a bottle that contained a liquid, which they assumed to be a left-over cold drink.
After drinking the liquid, Altee complained of a burning sensation in his throat.
He started staggering, his pupils became dilated and started foaming from the nose and mouth.
Moments later, Altee died in his father's arms.
Metro spokesperson, Sithembiso Soyaya expressed his condolences toward the Willard family.
He urged residents to dispose of hazardous substances responsibly and in accordance with proper waste management regulations.
He said the Metro remains committed to ongoing public awareness and education campaigns on safe waste disposal, to prevent such tragedies in the future.
"We will continue working closely with communities, waste management authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone understands the dangers of improper waste disposal and the importance of using designated facilities for hazardous materials.
"We call on all residents to remain vigilant and report any illegal dumping activities to the Municipality so that appropriate action can be taken.
"Protecting our community is a shared responsibility, and we must all work together to ensure a safer and healthier environment for all," he said.
