Public transport services are expected to continue as usual on Monday following talks between Nelson Mandela Bay mayor and representatives of the taxi industry.
This, to avert a threatened strike that would have brought commuter services to a halt.
In a brief video statement on Sunday, Executive Mayor Nqaba Bhanga, said they had fruitful talks, adding that both taxi and bus services would continue as usual.
This was also confirmed by a representative of the taxi industry, but no details were provided of the issues discussed at the meeting.
Algoa Bus also announced that services would continue, after announcing the suspension of services on Friday.
The company said on social media on Sunday that now that the strike was off, buses would be operating during normal hours.
