Members from the Anti-Gang Unit in Gqeberha have arrested a 37-year-old man traveling in a bus from Gauteng and confiscated drugs worth more than R684-thousand.
Colonel Pricilla Naidu says the bus was intercepted on Old Uitenhage Road in Motherwell during an intelligence-driven operation on Saturday.
She says the alleged suspect and his bags were searched, and police found various drugs, including 1000 mandrax tablets valued at R80 000 and half-a-kilogram of cocaine with a street value of R425 000.
The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Monday.
